Job Overview:
As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will assist in managing the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems. You will work closely with senior administrators to maintain system performance, support end-users, and ensure that infrastructure supporting the digital signature platform remains robust, efficient, and secure. Additionally, you will be expected to achieve certain industry-standard certifications within set timeframes, aligning with both personal career growth and company KPIs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
System Operations & Maintenance:
- Assist in administering Windows, Linux, and cloud-based servers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, apply updates and patches, and ensure system stability and availability.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and assist in prompt resolution.
Security & Compliance:
- Assist in maintaining user access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.
- Support periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and policy enforcement.
- Ensure systems comply with relevant local and international standards (e.g., eIDAS, ISO 27001).
Backup & Disaster Recovery:
- Maintain backup schedules, verify data integrity, and support disaster recovery planning.
- Assist in testing and improving DR procedures to minimize downtime in case of system failures.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Prepare periodic performance reports (e.g., uptime, ticket resolution times, resource utilization).
- Track, report, and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to IT management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- System Uptime: Achieve >99.5% uptime for critical systems.
- Incident Response Time: Provide initial response within 30 minutes and resolve Level 1/2 tickets within the agreed SLA.
- Security Compliance Rate: 100% adherence to security policies and zero critical security breaches.
- Patch & Update Timeliness: Achieve >95% compliance in applying security patches and system updates within defined maintenance windows.
- Documentation Accuracy: 100% completeness and periodic review of IT documentation.
- Certification Completion: Obtain at least one relevant industry certification (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, Windows server administration certificate) within the first 6-12 months of employment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 0-1 years of experience in systems administration, IT support, or related roles.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices.
- Basic analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrable willingness to pursue relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft or Cisco certifications).
